There is an eerie, heavy feeling in the air. Even our pets feel the difference. While the news media tells one story to keep everyone mesmerized, the truth is being uncovered on youtube channels and other websites regarding the new world order/economy/religion that is being established while everyone huddles in their homes. And what is God doing? Moving… Nation after nation is seeing a move of God as people kneel and pray in the streets and cry out to Him in desperation and in repentance. Even one national leader has expressed prayers of repentance and humility. Revival is happening in Kenya, India, Pakistan, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Jamaica. Thousands of prison inmates are giving their hearts to Christ, little children lay their hands on maps of the world and pray fervently, policemen have become street preachers, and many lead in worship from rooftops and balconies.
However, in the west, there does not appear to be any repentance. Instead, there is either the restless undertow of protests or the false, idealistic notion that everything will get back to normal soon.
Nevertheless, God has not given us this window of time, this moment of isolation, to be squandered on new busyness or on protestation or on worry or fear or on false optimism, but rather, on repentance and on preparing our hearts and lives for His SOON return. Let’s not forget that God is Holy, and we are called to be holy too. But, we live in a sin-diseased nation, and our own lives have been affected and possibly even infected by this virus of sin whether we think we have or not. Thus, it is imperative that we repent, for even the most microscopic of spots still stains us. And we need to be without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5). Even the prophet Daniel, one of the holiest men to ever live Ezekiel 14:14, repented on behalf of himself and his people (Daniel 9). For Jesus is indeed coming soon. All of the signs point to this very thing.
It is time to repent! Don’t wait another minute. Today is the day of salvation (Psalm 95:1-11/Hebrews 3:15).
“7Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:“Today, if you hear His voice, 8do not harden your hearts,as you did in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness, 9where your fathers tested and tried Me,and for forty years saw My works. 10Therefore I was angry with that generation,and I said,‘Their hearts are always going astray,and they have not known My ways.’ 11So I swore on oath in My anger,‘They shall never enter My rest.’”
